B7. The Hunt
Before reindeer husbandry and farming became a part of Sami trading, hunting was very important for daily livelihood. Hunting brought both food and marketable goods. Later, hunting became an important additional income for both the nomadic Sami and the permanently based Sami.
A variety of animals were hunted with snares and traps, and then later, with different firearms.
Spears were used in bear hunts, later rifles.
Today, mostly moose and ptarmigan are hunted.
